Important Safety Tips
Check out online pals just as you would your
child’s friends visiting your home.
Keep an eye on your child’s email.
Talk with your child about the dangers of getting
together with someone he or she "meets" online.
Restrict or monitor your child’s use of “chat” functions.
Install a filter that restricts your child from giving out his or her
name, address (home or email), or phone number.

MOST Important…
Tell your child:
1. Never give out personal information* on the Internet.
2. NEVER give out personal information* on the Internet.
3. ALWAYS obey 1 & 2 !!!!
*Personal information = name, address, age, physical description, etc.

Summary
The Internet offers wonderful opportunities, IF it is properly
monitored.
Your children are safest when they view
Internet visitors with the same caution as
they would visitors to your home.
The best source of protection for children
surfing the Internet– as in most scenarios–
is the powerful team of their teachers
AND their parents, working together to
provide accurate information.
Take this information with you…
Please accept the adhesive
“Safe Surfing” card as our gift.
Post it on your child’s computer monitor at
home or school!
