    The Providence Children s Museum has selected several fourth grade classes from the state of Rhode Island to participate in launching a new exhibit on honeybees Y our class is one of the selected few They have asked your class to research interesting facts about the honeybee that you will then organize into an inform ational display Honeybees work extrem hard to m an am ely ake azingly engineered storage system for their honey The m useum hopes your class will work just as hard to put together a creative and am azing m ural to store large am ounts of interesting facts So get started and GOOD LUCK

    Top Introduction Task Process Evaluation Conclusion Teacher page Credits Y ou have been asked to design a unique way to present the facts you have researched about the honeybee Working in groups of five you will be assigned to one of the five different topics Y ou will then research 10 specific facts about that topic The five topics that will researched are 1 Different roles the honeybees play in the hive 2 The life cycle of the honeybee 3 History of the honeybee 4 Products made from beeswax 5 How the honeybees communicate and their life style Each fact will be placed on an individual hexagonal piece of paper representing the com of a honeybee hive which will then be put bs together to construct a honeybee hive of facts to donate to the Providence Children s Museum We will be conducting our research at the school library using both educational trade books inform ative websites and any other appropriate resources such as m agazine or newspaper articles or encyclopedias Rem ber to cite work em

    Continued 5 Y ou m ight try beginning your research by collecting a large am ount of facts and then meeting to discuss the most interesting and unique 6 After you have decided on the ten m unique and interesting fact ost you will receive ten yellow hexagonal cardboard cut out the sam e shape as the honeybee com to put your ten facts on b 7 Finally once each group has neatly written their ten facts on their cardboard honeybee combs we will share each fact with the class and then put our m ural together 8 Last when the honeybee hive of facts is complete and put together we will have a field trip to the Providence Children s Museum to deliver it and spend the day exploring the other wonderful and education exhibits
