Seth Godin is known as the mentor of new marketing trends His words are not less than the practical tips which are useful in growing and developing business The main idea in his speech is to convey the idea of being outstanding noteworthy significant and remarkable The companies need to use different advertising techniques and ideas in order to stop people and let them know about the product He says that in the current market we have lots of varieties of products but everybody is short of time So the advertisings which attract the people are able to put an image or impression about their products and ultimately he she buys the product He also says that it is not always good to make your customers to know about the processes involved in production machinery used etc since everyone is short of time so better to give a small idea about the product in a very innovative way In short he put more emphasizes on the idea that in this world there are too many options and too little time and the obvious choice left with the consumer is to ignore the ordinary stuff For being noticed by the customers it is very important to be different from all others To illustrate this he has put an example of a black and a purple cow He has effectively conveyed his ideas and thoughts He started his speech by quoting an example of the failure of sliced bread in early 1910 s which afterwards do to effective marketing techniques made sliced bread a huge success

The speech is centered on the main theme of making something remarkable through ideas Godin was moving around the theme and was never out the track Not even for a single instance the speech go away from the theme and was effectively presented and conveyed Examples pertaining to the main theme were presented in clear order which included Tiffany s Hummer Wal Mart a chair manufacturing company etc and how they made remarkable achievements in their fields Another main thing noticed was the order and connections in which the speech was organized Godin has minutely selected the ideas ordered organized and connected each and every part of his speech in a well planned and taking the consideration the flow of ideas

    Delivery Skills and Techniques
Enthusiasm and Connection to the Audience
The speaker was very enthusiastic This can be clearly seen through his involvement in the speech he was delivering He seems to have a great passion in what he is doing His speech reflects the current and traditional advertising ideas and trends There was no audience interaction as it was a sort of a presentation which required no audience involvement at all But at times on certain jokes and notable thoughts their involvement can be judged by hearing the sound of claps and laughing The message was clearly focused on products advertising and BMA MBA KULDEEP SHIVPURI IS 6Page 2

companies He talked about some remarkable ideas that change the life of all of us and no portion of the speech seemed to be self centric Humor Humor contributes much to a speech Here also some jokes are narrated to attract the audiences Examples such as Copernicus purple cow water salad etc were the main humorous examples that supported the ideas Given the available audience the humor was safe to be delivered as it was pertaining to topic Visual Aids Visual aid such as PowerPoint presentations etc played a major role in the delivery of the speech They were used in such a manner that it was seen as a mix of speech that was been delivered They clearly complemented the speech as well as added interest to the speech Physical Gestures and Eye Contact Physical gestures like moving around the stage use of hands changing position with changing ideas etc showed the importance of physical gestures which delivering a speech or presenting a topic Eye to eye contact with the audience in each part of the auditorium can be seen clearly Direct eye contact was seen in the video Vocal Variety and Language Vocal Variety and language was another noticeable part of the speech Change of pace with different ideas was seen to emphasize on key points such as the purple cow The technique of stressing some particular words was used in order to make the audiences more comfortable and audible English language was used in somewhat American accent which may cause the listeners of different ethnicity to interpret Sentence formation articulation and flow of thoughts etc were very precise and were easily understandable Intangible I was totally convinced with the speaker s ideas He has clearly passed on the idea of making something remarkable and significant I completely agree to the views of Seth Godin I have listened to the speech round about 6 times and I will not lose a chance to watch it once again His ideas about his book The Purple Cow seemed to be original as I have never heard of them before BMA MBA KULDEEP SHIVPURI IS 6Page 3

    Speech Conclusion
The speech seemed to me as though provoking When the speech arrived to the conclusion Godin showed an imaginary lamp which was huge and compared it to his purple cow He wished to go there if it was built and closed his speech This made the conclusion as memorable as the sliced bread example which was used to introduce the speech This speech is surely one which invokes a call to action and a person will surely go on to do something remarkable for people to know
